The Poker Room
Our poker room at 90 Highcross Street, Leicester, LE1 4NN is open every day with cash games, tournaments and regulars dropping in at all hours. It is one of the busier live poker rooms in the East Midlands, so we see a steady mix of players. New faces, seasoned locals, people coming back after a long break - they all end up at the same tables. Most nights there is a chair somewhere with your name on it.
We run four dedicated cash tables, overseen by our on-site poker team. There is no fixed cut-off for when a session has to end - the casino runs round the clock, so cash games can carry on as long as players want to keep playing and there is a game running. If you are planning a visit mainly for cash, turning up earlier in the evening usually gives you a better chance of sitting straight into a full table rather than waiting around too long.
Tournaments follow a regular daily schedule with clear start times, buy-ins and guaranteed prize pools. From time to time, freeroll events also sit on that schedule for players who like that format. For the current week, it is always worth checking grosvenorcasinos.com/local-casinos/leicester or the PokerAtlas listing for Grosvenor Leicester. Both are updated frequently with the latest tournament details, including any freerolls that might be on that week.
We also support poker visits through the Grosvenor Poker Live app, which is available in the Apple App Store. From there you can see live cash and tournament information across all our venues and jump straight to the Leicester casino listing from your phone. It is useful when you are deciding late in the day if the trip is worth it.

Playing Here for the First Time
If you have not visited us before, the set-up is simple enough. You do not need to prepare much in advance, and our team will usually fill in any gaps when you arrive.
Here is roughly how a first visit tends to go
- Make your way to 90 Highcross Street, Leicester, LE1 4NN. We have a free private car park on site for players, so you can leave the car there during your session.
- Come through reception and register as a member if you are new to the venue.
- Ask at the desk for directions to the poker room, or just follow the signs around the floor.
- Once you are there, speak with the poker staff and either put your name on the cash waiting list or register into the next scheduled tournament.
- For tournaments, confirm the buy-in at the desk, complete registration and pick up your seat assignment before the event starts.
- For cash games : hand over cash at the table or to floor staff and receive chips directly so you can sit straight in.
- Our floor team stay close to the action, so if you are unsure on a rule, procedure or anything else, just ask them at the table.
- When you are finished playing, cash out your chips at the poker desk or at the main cashier in the casino.
One small piece of advice from us - if you are brand new to live rooms, it helps to stand back for a short while and watch a couple of hands at the table you are joining. It is not required at all, but most people find it a calmer way to settle in.
Joining a Tournament
Tournament sessions are slightly more structured than dropping into a cash game, and a bit of planning up front will usually make the whole thing smoother.
- Start by checking the current tournament listings at grosvenorcasinos.com/local-casinos/leicester or inside the Grosvenor Poker Live app before you travel.
- Pick out the event you want and make a note of the start time, buy-in amount and whether there are any re-entry options.
- Aim to reach the poker room around 30 minutes before the scheduled start; registration and payment take a few minutes and it is better not to sprint to your seat at the last second.
- Register for the event at the poker room desk, pay your buy-in there and collect your seat card from the team.
- Take your allocated seat ahead of the tournament clock going live, so you are settled before the first hand is dealt.
- The tournament director will outline the blind structure, and level lengths and blind increases are also posted and visible at the table during play.
- If the event allows re-entries, check with the floor team when the late registration and re-entry period will close, so you know your window.
- When play reaches the final table, prize payouts are confirmed and then paid out by the poker room staff once the event finishes.
For our larger guaranteed tournaments, we always suggest giving us a quick call on 01162 426070 before you set off. Those nights can reach capacity quicker than you may expect, especially on weekends.
