The Gaming Floor
Grosvenor Casino Leicester is based at 90 Highcross Street, Leicester LE1 4NN, in the heart of the city. As part of The Rank Group network of approximately 53 UK casinos, we run under a UK Gambling Commission licence, so our compliance and regulatory framework is locked in before you even step inside.
On the main floor you will find the classic table mix: Roulette, Blackjack and Poker. Roulette is available as traditional live-dealer tables and on electronic terminals. The terminals suit players who like to control their own pace a bit more, without hanging around for a spare chair. Blackjack is spread across several tables with different minimums, so a quick casual session and a longer, higher-stakes visit both sit comfortably next to each other.
Slot machines are positioned alongside the tables rather than hidden in a separate room. The layout is open enough that moving from Roulette to a slot or a Blackjack table is basically a short walk, not a trek across the venue. Throughout the floor, our team are on hand if you need help with how a game works, chip exchanges, or just a quick clarification on a rule.
| Game Category | Format |
|---|---|
| Roulette | Live dealer tables and electronic terminals |
| Blackjack | Multiple tables, varied stakes |
| Poker | Cash games and tournament schedule |
| Slots | Multiple slot machines positioned alongside table games in an open-plan layout |
One practical point before you visit: various directories list our opening hours differently. You might see us marked as 24 hours in one place and 6:00 PM to 12:30 AM (for restaurant only) in another. It is worth making a quick call to +44 116 242 6070 to check the current hours, particularly if you are planning a late or very early session.
Poker Room
Our poker room operates as its own space, separate from the main gaming floor. That matters if you are here to play a full session rather than dropping in for a couple of hands. It feels like a dedicated card room, not just poker tables squeezed into a corner.
We host cash games across several tables, with stakes adjusted to work for different bankrolls. Tournaments run to set formats, with fixed buy-ins, clear blind structures and defined prize pools. Poker tournaments take place on a weekly basis. If live poker is new for you, the cash tables are usually the calmer way to get used to the environment before you put money into a scheduled tournament.
Getting yourself into a game is pretty straightforward:
- Head over to the poker room entrance and speak with the host about current cash tables or when the next tournament is due to start.
- Register your name for a cash seat or pay your tournament buy-in at the desk.
- Take the seat card or allocation the host gives you, along with your initial chips.
- Before the first hand, double-check the blind levels or cash stakes with the dealer so everyone is on the same page.
- When you finish playing, cash out your chips back at the poker room desk.
Tournament schedules can and do move around from time to time. Because of that, calling us in advance is more reliable than assuming an online listing is up to date. A quick phone check saves turning up for a game that has shifted or already started.
Sports Lounge and Betting
Our Leicester casino was the first Grosvenor venue to properly combine a dedicated sports lounge with in-venue sports betting. It is more than just a casino floor where a TV happens to be on in the background. The idea is to treat it as a dual-purpose space for both gaming and sport.
In the sports lounge, multiple screens run live fixtures from different sports at the same time. While you are watching, you can place bets on the events as they play out, which puts the feel closer to a sports bar with integrated betting than a traditional casino pit. The lounge opens directly into the bar area, so moving from a drink to a bet and back to your seat is a simple loop without leaving the main floor.
| Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
| Sports Lounge | Dedicated area with live sport screens |
| Sports Betting | On-site betting available during events |
| First in Chain | First Grosvenor venue with both features |
| Layout | Directly connected to the main bar area |
Match days work particularly well in this setup. You can build an evening round one big game, or just slot a few bets and some screen time into a normal casino visit without needing a separate venue.
